Hello all aspiring filmmakers and horror/fantasy aficionados! Welcome to the Third Annual Best of the Silver Scream Film Festival brought to you by CW 15 and Field of Screams. We are happy to announce there are some new changes to this year’s festival that will allow more filmmakers to enter their work.

If you have produced a short horror or fantasy film in the last two years, you could be eligible to enter the festival. The grand prize is $1,000 plus the opportunity to have your movie played in front of thousands of people at Field of Screams, America's #1 Haunted House Attraction. Winners will be announced at Field of Screams on Sunday October 14, 2012.

Please take a moment to read the rules and the important guidelines below:

  1. Your entry must be under ten minutes in length and must have been produced between August 2010 and October 2012. Your entry can be a cut down version (or movie trailer) of a longer work however the trailer cannot be longer than ten minutes.
  2. To enter you must be a legal resident of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware or New York and must be 18 years of age or older. If you are a filmmaker under the age of 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian enter for you.
  3. Your entry must include a plot or style that would allow it to be easily characterized as a horror or fantasy movie.
  4. Entries should not contain vulgar language, excessive violence or gore or other offensive content that would prevent the entry from being aired on broadcast television. CW 15 and Field of Screams reserve the right to void any entries that do not adhere to eligibility guidelines.
  5. Entrants must be able to provide CW 15 a link to where the movie can be viewed online. This link must be provided at the time of entry or the entry may be voided.
  6. Entrants, if requested to do so by CW 15, must be able to provide a DVD or downloadable version of their movie to be shown at the festival.
  7. Entrants must confirm with CW 15 that they hold all necessary rights of their entry (including but not limited to performance rights and music rights) and that the work is their own and no other individual can claim credit.
  8. Deadline to enter is October 5, 2012.
